Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for an Manager Aircraft Maintenance 1 in San Antonio, Texas.
Provide pro-active leadership managing the daily operations of a team. Will work in concert with NGDS site manager and management of primary vendor; this will include assignment of work schedules to ensure efficiencies of day to day workflow. Responsibilities include: cost, schedule, and technical performance of the San Antonio based "touch labor" team in support of the F/A-18 E/F SLM Program. This position will have broad responsibility for numerous aspects of Program performance on a Time and Material contract.
Managerial responsibility for the successful execution of this Program, to include cost and schedule objectives, while delivering a Quality product.
Will be tasked to recruit qualified candidates to support growth as the Program matures.
Develop opportunities with the Customer to expand the Work Share allocation
Ensure that the team remains in full compliance with all Policies and Procedures; especially as it relates to Safety, FOD and Tool Control.
Maintain compliance with CATS and ETS timekeeping systems and perform ensure weekly reconciliations between the two systems to ensure the appropriate job charging.
Provide accurate Manpower assessments to enable timely and accurate Financial Forecasting.

An active Secret Clearance or above
5+ years Experience with heavy depot level structures work on F-18 military aircraft AND 2+ years Prior supervisory experience, with responsibility for team oversight and execution.
Clear understanding of fatigue critical issues (must have worked with Engineering in this area) AND Disassembly and evaluation of major aircraft components (must have supported work on longerons, formers, etc.)
Close tolerance inspections / drilling AND be able to interpret engineering dispositions and execute required tasking
Certified to inspect work performed by other mechanics (must have this certification; in NGC this is SIS stamp (or Self-Inspection Stamp) or be able to obtain
Understanding of IETM's (interactive Electronic Technical Manual)
- FAA aircraft and engine mechanic license (A&P).
