The Factory Test Equipment team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Software Engineering Manager 1 based out of Salt Lake City, UT. The Software Engineering functional manager will lead a team of about 10 software engineers in the Factory Test Equipment organization. This team supports Mission Systems developed applications used in the calibration and test of manufactured products. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating with engineering and operations for tasking and prioritization, timecard supervision, staffing, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees, evaluating/recommending employees for promotions, evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments, assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary. The candidate may also spend up to 50% of time to directly working on software engineering tasks to support the team as needed.

What You'll get to Do:

Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions as needed to support the software engineering team.

Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of factory test equipment.

Ensure compliance of software engineering to policies and procedures and that software standards are being met.

Plan for and coordinate resources for projects requested of the software engineering team and is responsible for the day-to-day direct supervision of the team.

Set team goals to ensure the professional development and positive engagement of the team.

Interface regularly with internal customers and users to ensure good communication of expectations and requirements is being maintained.

Collaborate with other test equipment software engineering teams throughout Mission Systems sector.

MANUMS

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors' degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics discipline.

At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.

Candidate must have a full understanding of the software engineering discipline.

Candidate must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance.

Proven written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters.

Excellent interpersonal skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters' degree.

Direct supervisory experience and/or significant team leadership.

At least 5 years of experience developing applications in Object Oriented languages.

Demonstrated experience in process improvement initiatives.

Experience executing the engineering project life cycle, including: requirements analysis, design, development, integration, validation, verification, and sustainment.
