Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division, is seeking a Senior Technical Writer and Editor who will report to the SDS Division Engineering Processes team, and be responsible for technical writing and editing support for the development and maintenance of SDS Division processes.
This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the business portfolio for the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division which includes the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program, Ground Systems Sustainment Contract (GSSC) and related business development.
What You'll Get To Do:
Leading process technical writing efforts
Authoring and editing technical process documents for accuracy and consistency with prescribed style, formatting, metadata, and templates
Typical documentation includes Division and program procedures, manuals, work instructions, forms, checklists, handbooks, and other knowledge base documents
Coordinating process document inputs for revision from technical teams, and finalizing and polishing process content
Maintaining and improving process document templates
Adhering to naming conventions and process document standards
Reviewing documentation to ensure adherence to document and quality standards, ease of use, logical order of tasks, etc.
Oversee preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts
Establishing and maintaining accurate document metadata in conformance with the SDS Asset Library
Collaborating with team members across the Division, both inside and outside of the SDS Division Engineering Processes team
Establishing strong working relationships and collaborate across multiple projects and functions
Understanding issues from multiple viewpoints
Assimilating information that is being delivered verbally
Communicating in a precise manner (written and verbal)
Demonstrating a high standard of accountability

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications
U.S. citizen and ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
Bachelor's Degree and 15+ years related experience, or 13+ years with Masters
Experience leading process technical writing activities and development of standards for style, formatting, and quality
Ability to adhere to internal processes, and standards for quality and style
Expertise in the Microsoft Office suite of tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Excellent communication skills
Detail-oriented candidate with strong technical writing experience and natural process acumen
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Familiar with defense industry processes, procedures, manuals, work instructions and other process documents
Missile, ICBM, Minuteman III subject matter experience
