Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Mechanical Design Integration role in support of the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. This position is located in Roy, UT. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do
This position requires excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with senior management, peers, and employees.
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
Development of full vehicle 3D NX CAD models with PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) annotation
Configuration management of the Air Vehicle Equipment
Development and release of mechanical assembly, installation, and collector PDPs (Product Definition Packages) through Siemens Teamcenter (CPLM)
Ownership and upkeep of the AVE drawing tree and modeling tree
Development of Interface Control Models (ICM)
Interfacing with other IPTs to develop interface requirements
Support development of mass properties analysis and documentation
Prepare trade studies and program review presentations
Monitor and enforce program's Engineering Drawing and Modeling Manual (EDMM) across the higher-level assemblies
Perform tolerance stack-up analysis

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 7 years of experience with Master's degree, 4 years of experience with PhD
US Citizenship with an Active DoD Secret clearance, granted or re-investigated within last 6 years, or in Continuous Evaluation (CE)
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) Clearanc
Experience with product data management systems (CPLM)
4 or more years of experience with Siemens NX
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5), tolerance stack-up analysis, etc.
Working knowledge of drawing creation and PMI (ASME Y14.41)
Knowledge of mechanical design principles
Systems integration experience
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with rocket motor assembly and integration
Experience with launch vehicle design
Experience with "clean-sheet" new design
Experience leading a mechanical team of 4-5 junior level engineers
Experience with launch or air vehicle mass properties analysis
Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills
Works well in a team environment
Experience mentoring junior level engineers
Salary Range: $112,000 - $168,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
