Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal NEPA Compliance Lead . This position will be located in Roy, Utah . This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Develops, implements, and maintains Sentinel Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Mitigations and Compliance (EM&C) programs to ensure design and construction of infrastructure meets the standards and requirements therein.

  • Liaison with US Air Force and their appointed representatives discussing prescribed responsibilities. Establish compliance metrics and update as required.

  • Liaison with Northrop Grumman subcontractors and their appointed representatives discussing prescribed responsibilities. Establish compliance metrics and update as required.

  • Prepare for potential compliance audits.

  • Conducts internal compliance inspections to identify actions necessary to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Reviews and interprets existing and proposed environmental regulations to determine applicability and impact to site.

  • Keep leadership updated on the EM&C program to include, potentially, risks and costs associated with the program.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

This position can be filled as a level 3 or a level 4

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Level 3 : 5 years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 3 years of relevant experience with Masters; 0 years with PhD (4 years of additional relevant experience can be considered in lieu of degree).

  • U.S Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance and Program access as required.

  • 3 years of experience in environmental compliance and/or missile programs.

  • Experience in environmental compliance programs such as: Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), the Clean Water Act (CWA), Spill Prevention Controls and Counter Measures (SPCC), Stormwater, Air, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), Underground and Aboveground Storage Tanks (UST/AST), Pollution Prevention, Department of Transportation (DOT), Sustainability.

  • Ability to conduct in person training and develop online training for various environmental compliance related topics to various types of audiences.

  • Experience with data entry and basic manipulation of data in ArcGIS databases.

  • Ability to recognize potential solutions to complex problems based on sound environmental principles and prepare for and conduct internal compliance inspections in environmental programs.

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently on unplanned tasks as they are assigned.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and collaboration skills with all levels of an organization.

  • Level 4 : 9 years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 7 years of relevant experience with Masters; 4 years with PhD (4 years of additional relevant experience can be considered in lieu of degree).

  • Significant experience in conducting in person training and developing online training for various environmental compliance related topics to various types of audience.

  • Experience with data entry and manipulation of data in ArcGIS databases and the ability to establish dashboard metrics utilizing ArcGIS databases to identify metrics for the NEPA compliance efforts.

  • Significant experience conducting internal compliance inspections in environmental programs.

  • Experience overseeing third party consultants/contractors.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in environmental engineering.

  • Familiarity with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Mitigations.

  • Experience in implementing compliance programs related to requirements in the Clean Air Act (CAA) and Clean Water Act (CWA).

  • Experience with supporting EIS programs for manufacturing and construction operations.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and to develop and implement more efficient and enhanced programs.

  • Excellent computer-based skills specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point programs

Salary Range: $82,000 - $123,000

Salary Range 2: $101,600 - $152,400

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
