Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Parts, Materials and Processes (PM&P) Sr. Manager 3 . This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What You’ll Get To Do:

The PM&P Senior Manager is responsible for the PM&P organization responsible for product parts, materials, and process engineering/management across the Sentinel Program supporting all Segments. The applicant will have experience in the parts, materials, and assembly processes and will rely on a team of experts with a strong background in the PM&P disciplines. Familiarity with the integration and test of missiles is also desired.

In addition to their technical qualifications, the PM&P Sr. Manager must possess excellent communication skills as they will be the primary PM&P interface with multiple subcontractors as well as with program management and government customers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading program technical teams on complex and large integration programs. As responsibilities span across a diverse set of stakeholders, this leader will be expected to collaborate effectively and partner across organizations while ensuring day to day functions of the organization assigned to execute mission objectives. This leadership position includes oversight of other managers that are responsible for task management of individual contributors.

This position includes Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities including schedule management, labor forecasting, risk management and performance management. Proven Earned Value Management (EVM) experience and the ability to assess program issues and develop resolutions. The PM&P Sr. Manager must be able to develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Job Qualifications:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 8 years of experience; Master of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 6 years of experience

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

  • Minimum of 3 years in a formal lead/ management position and experience directing multiple teams, with demonstrated ability to coach mid-level managers and individual contributors.

  • Experience in Parts, Materials and Processes (PM&P) type work on large military programs or similar. PM&P type work experience can include: PM&P analysis and qualification efforts, TeamCenter engineering design parts and materials planning/implementation, PM&P Design for manufacturability, Nuclear Hardness parts qualification efforts, Production engineering support for critical parts, processes or materials, Design efforts that selected critical parts, materials or processes.

  • Minimum of 1 year of Earned Value Management (EVM) experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) including schedule management, labor forecasting, risk management and performance management.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools.

  • Experience with MIL-STD-11991 and/or MIL-STD-1568

  • Experience in Materials selection and qualification for missiles or space environments

  • IBM Rationale DOORS software experience.

  • Experience managing cost, schedule and performance of large government technical statements of work

  • Experience with Agile Processes/Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira and Confluence)

  • Experience with MS Project

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills of the English language is desired

  • Active Top Secret clearance

Salary Range: $141,900 - $212,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
