Northrop Grumman SDS- Manager Communications in Roy, Utah

Embark on a career that will shape and uphold our nation's national security through innovative and impactful communication strategies. Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrence Systems (SDS) Division Communications seeks a Manager of Communications to join its team in our Roy, UT office.

Join a team of dedicated professionals who are pioneering the future of national defense and reimaging technologies that are defining what's possible for the next generation. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Manager of Communications will be responsible for defining and implementing the division communications strategy and framework to drive SDS Division, Space System Sector and overall company business objectives.

This role will support division advocacy and communications programs, employee and functional leadership communications, integrated communication campaigns, brand strategy communications and division values and culture communications.

The selected candidate will lead the development, implementation and execution of integrated communications strategies in partnership with division functional and program partners. This candidate will directly support the Director of Communications and serve the SDS Division Communications team in a variety of capacities, including internal communications, media, events, graphics, and cross-functional and cross-sector collaboration.

S/He is a strategic thinker and hands-on individual who can take projects from concept to implementation, and has a proven track record of simultaneously managing and delivering multiple, evolving communications projects.

In this job you will:

  • Influence, establish and execute integrated communication plans for division campaigns, programs and initiatives that you'll execute.

  • Drive and develop communications campaigns to support business imperatives, strategic priorities and to drive a common culture.

  • Lead SDS Division Communications team coordination and facilitate collaboration with division and sector functional partners

  • Prioritize, organize and support the division communications efforts to achieve defined and measurable goals and objectives and manage regular divisional and sector reporting against those metrics

  • Deliver captivating, relevant information to key stakeholders using a multi-channel approach, including emerging and non-traditional communications avenues and outlets.

  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Communications to provide strategic counsel, support and execution for communicating with and across key stakeholder groups, including senior leaders, internal client groups, and employees at functional and enterprise levels.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree & 8 years experience inclusive of 3 years in a formal lead/management position

  • Experience in Communications, Journalism, English or closely related field

  • Track record of leadership success with substantial change communications projects, in addition to executive-level written and verbal communications skills

  • Demonstrated experience developing successful and innovative communications programs with proven business results

  • Strong relationship building skills; proven track record of building collaborative partnerships as the basis for being able to influence direction and drive change at every level of organization

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance is required

  • Occasional travel required (10%)
