Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Systems Architect for Nuclear Command, Control and Communications. This position will be located in Roy, Utah or Huntsville Alabama, and will be part of the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program (Minuteman III ICBM replacement) development contract. Designs and develops system architectures, and defines key capabilities and performance requirements. Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications. Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces. Defines system implementation approach and operational concept. Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • US DoD SECRET (not interim ) with the ability to get Top Secret / SCI

  • Working knowledge in distributed command and control (C2) software architectures, and architecture development and maturation

For Principal Architect:

  • 5 Years with Bachelors in Science or related field; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD

  • At least 1 years working with MBSE tools (NoMagic Cameo, for example) using the SysML and UPDM profiles

For Senior Principal Architect:

  • 9 Years with Bachelors in Science or related field; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD

  • At least 2 years working with MBSE tools (NoMagic Cameo, for example) using the SysML and UPDM profiles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Developing enterprise and SoS Architectures / Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles / best practices.

  • Ability to implement and debug model validation tools / develop / manage the MBSE Style Guide and metamodel for the effort.

  • MBSE simulation (digital twin) experience

  • Working knowledge of SAIC Digital Engineering Validation Tool

  • Developing architectures from primary sources (without gov't architecture model), and knowledge on how to develop structural, behavioral, etc. models from the primary sources (USG Policy, DoD Instructions, and stakeholder elicitation)

  • Create AoA frameworks for alternate architectures and develop simulations tied to Measures of Effectiveness (MoEs) and Measures of Performance (MoPs) in Cameo using Activity, State, and Parametric methods

  • Coach / Mentor other team members on how to develop System of Systems (SoS) Architectures / use Cameo properly

  • Knowledgeable in Agile MBSE methods and Atlassian Jira and Confluence products.

  • Ability to work on a nationally distributed team with excellent communications skills for working on a distributed team
