Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Support Equipment Manager 2 to join our team. This leadership role will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

The selected candidate will act as a Technical Lead for the GBSD EMD Support Equipment Sub-IPT, and will represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with complex projects, acting as an advisor to leadership and customers, and mentoring and training subordinates. This includes identifying and addressing program risks to ensure team success, mentoring staff in problem solving, facilitating technical solutions, providing staff with the appropriate resources to solve problems, and tracking Program and Department schedules.

The preferred candidate will have an extensive background in across the Support Equipment (SE) product-lifecycle. Primary technical areas of interest to support this role include: conducting maintenance task analysis, SE requirements analysis, SE systems engineering and requirements and specification development, and leading design reviews with leadership and customers.

These positions will have a standard work schedule of 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, Physics or Mathematics

  • 7 years of related experience with Bachelor's; 5 years with Master's; 3 years with PhD

  • Active DoD Secret clearance.

  • 1 year of experience with Aerospace hardware development, including requirements generation, conceptual/detail design, design reviews, and/or testing.

  • 1 year of experience with SE requirements analysis, trade studies, SERD generation, design solutions, acquisition, test, and validation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in other Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) disciplines

  • Proficient with 3D design / 2D drawing CAD in CATIA and/or NX

  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written; and ability to read and understand technical requirements documents

  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word

  • Proficient with PDM and/or Teamcenter

  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience

  • Hands on experience in equipment maintenance, fabrication, assembly, power, hand and measuring tools

  • Military service experience with SE and missile maintenance
