Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership and expertise for the G BSD Re-Entry Systems Team . Duties will include high level technical decisions, planning, risk creation, customer interaction, team mentorship, cost evaluation, technical presentation, design evaluation, testing, analysis, and integration. Technical expertise, high level of technical communication ability, expert knowledge, and broad experience with related technical disciplines is required.
This position will be with our Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector located in Roy, UT. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time. Learn more about the GBSD program here.
The successful applicant will:
Determine tasking for yourself and others through consultation with peers and understanding of program needs
Ability to develop, interpret, and apply system requirements
Provide leadership for all phases of the system lifecycle including requirements creation and application, design, test, fabrication, and implementation
Perform model validation through test and analysis
Lead testing through all phases
Create technical reports and present technical information
Lead and mentor team members
Act as a technical advisor to management
Perform technical planning
Identify technical risks
Interface regularly with AF Customer
Perform as high level technical authority

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Bachelor in Science degree in a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with a minimum of 14 years of related experience ; 12 years with a Master's in Science degree in a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline; 9 years with PhD
Active Secret Security Clearance investigated within the last 6 years
Minimum 10 years of technical leadership experience
10 or more years of defense industry experience
Extensive experience with ICBM Weapon Systems
Experience with TeamCenter/NX
Experience with Agile
Experience with DOORS
