Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here .

Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What You'll Get To Do:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related technical field

  • Minimum 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 7 Years with Masters; or 4 years with PhD

  • U.S. Citizenship and an active DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher

  • 2+ years' experience with Model Based System Engineering Tools (Cameo, for example) or Requirements management tools (DOORS, for example).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills of the English language is desired

  • Familiarity with Cameo or DOORs

  • Experience working in team environment with leadership responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with and desire to mentor junior engineers

  • Experience with large scale aerospace/defense projects is desirable
