Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking to add a Specialty Engineering Manager 2 to its Specialty Engineering team. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
The candidate for this management position will be expected to lead specialty engineering teams in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects, Nuclear Hardness, Systems Safety and Human Systems Integration disciplines for the GBSD Program. This position requires experience in technical work in one or more of these disciplines. Knowledge and experience with leading technical teams over a broad range of tasks including design, implementation, test, verification, reporting and scheduling is required. The successful candidate must have the ability to lead teams in a fluid environment that requires teamwork with our Customer, NGC teams and suppliers to meet program objectives. A high degree of skill in critical decision making is imperative to perform in this environment. A working knowledge of ground based deterrence systems is desirable.
This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-
hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 7 years of experience. 5 years of experience with a MS. 3 years with a PhD.
Active DoD Secret Clearance investigated within the last 6 years
1 year of engineering experience in at least one of the following disciplines, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects, Nuclear Hardness, Systems Safety or Human Systems Integration
1 year of experience managing development efforts for complex systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in ground based deterrence systems
1 year of Project management experience for technical, cost, and schedule milestones
Experience with managing/scheduling complex technical efforts
Prior experience leading 10+ person teams
Previous experience managing employee performance and professional development
Active Top Secret clearance with investigation
Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with senior management, peers, and employees
