Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineering Manager 2 for the Mechanical Test Engineering group on the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This position will be permanently located in Roy, Utah with some travel to El Segundo/Redondo Beach, CA; Huntsville, AL; and VAFB, CA.
Lead a small team of ground systems and I&T engineers to integrate, test and deploy a Ground Segment.
Perform the duties of a section manager for a small team of test engineers and test tech support within the GBSD functional hierarchy. Tasks include the performance review process, merit reward process, goal setting, and general personnel management tasks and mentoring along with further hiring for the GBSD I&T team.
Support the test design process along with the design, analysis and fabrication of specialty test equipment required for environmental testing and handling.
Help develop and execute the integrated test strategy of the program. It is particularly critical that this individual be an excellent communicator and effective leader. Collaborate with other IPTs to define test objectives and requirements for test activities in the System Integration Labs.
Support the development of test requirements and detailed integration test plans, test information sheets (TIS), test procedures, test readiness reviews (TRRs), test data and test reports. Execute qualification and acceptance testing per those requirements, plans and procedures.
Interact with the customer and program leadership to define and maintain the technical baseline.
Able to effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers, technical peers and customers
Produce test conops flows that maximizes the utility of test resources while meeting the stringent schedule and technical requirements.
Be responsible for floor operations during the test execution while verifying and validating test flow down requirements.
Generate and maintain detailed test schedules to the program IMS

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
