Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling Manager. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here

What You'll Get To Do:

• Provide leadership, technical expertise in the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) disciplines (Engineering to Manufacturing design for excellence integration; Producibility, tooling concepts development; etc.) within the Production organization.

• Provide day to day leadership on various Manufacturing Engineering activities associated with Design For Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA), Manufacturing Readiness Assessment (MRA), Key Characteristics, and the incorporation of Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) data into Build To Packages (BTPs) released in a Common Product Lifecycle Management (CPLM) work flow.

• Provide leadership with detailed status for all Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling SOW within various elements during Engineering Manufacturing Development (EMD), Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP), and Full Rate Production (FRP) phases.

• Develop tooling processes, plans, and procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment in support of our manufacturing requirements.

• Lead managing all tooling phases of the project: design, document, and fabricate, assembly and validation.

• Development and execution of long-range plans and strategies while providing the most effective Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling skillsets to the program

• Awareness of ME and Tooling best practices and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on operating models, proposals and new business pursuits

• Collaborate the technical solutions across the IPT, functions and program leadership.

• Develop, hire and retain effective staff members including coaching and mentoring

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive Tool Engineering Statement of Work (TSOW) for the program and be responsible for reporting cost and schedule performance, including EV management

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
