Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Architect. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here .
What you will get to do, specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
Create and maintain SysML and UPDM models in Cameo EA; interface with subject matter experts, analysts, architects, designers, system engineers and specialty engineers to capture Launch Systems GBSD structure and behavior using accurate UPDM/SysML representations according to industry standards.
Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems
Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate test requirements and prepare test reports
Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
A current DoD Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline from an ABET accredited university with 9 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline; 7 Years with Masters; 4 with PhD
3 to 5 years of experience performing in a Systems Engineering or related technical discipline
Understanding of systems engineering principles and processes
Demonstrated communication skills and flexibility
Proficiency in MS Office
5 years of experience with ICBM Weapon System
Experience with any of the following tools and languages: CORE, DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, ModelCenter, MagicDraw, Easy Power, Prima Vera, UML, SysML
Experience in Systems Engineering and any of the following areas:
Requirements Management: MBSE, Functional Block Diagrams, Specification Trees
Systems and end item requirements validation and verification
Design: Systems Design, Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, N2 Analysis, Trade Studies
General knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines: Safety, Nuclear Hardness, Nuclear Surety, Material Science, Environmental, Parts and Logistics, etc
Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis
Decision Making: Risk Management, Cost-Risk-Benefit Analysis
