Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a GBSD Command and Launch Integration, Assembly, Test & Checkout Director. This position will be located at Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.
Lead the GBSD Command and Launch Segment's Integration, Assembly, Test & Checkout (IATC) team in support of development and Flight/Ground Test activities.
Lead development of tools such as Simulated Electronic Launch and Wing Data Simulator
Responsible for test requirements development, test campaign and procedure development, test equipment and instrumentation design, test infrastructure, operations, flight/ground test system integration, test execution, test reporting and anomaly resolution.
Plan segment level integration and test activities. Collaborate with other IPTs to define test objectives and requirements for test activities in the System Integration Labs. Lead team developing segment and system-level test information/planning sheets based on allocated requirements.
Develop yearly capital asset and Non-Contract Technical Activity (NCTA) forecasts and manage to allocated budgets. Support proposal development for all activities.
Develops mechanisms for monitoring and reporting project progress/metrics and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and client
Responsible for day-to-day management and escalation of project risks and issues; Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
Assess earned value progress and forecast Estimates-At-Complete (EAC).
Direct and manage a large cross-functional and cross-discipline team of highly skilled engineers, technicians, and support personnel at multiple locations to successfully achieve test campaign objectives and program goals.
Ensure compliance with security program and policies
Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables
Bachelor's degree in STEM and 10 years' experience
3 years leadership experience
In scope (
Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) / Special Access Required (SAR) access
Experience with managing large cross-functional and cross discipline team of highly skilled engineers, technicians, and support personnel at multiple locations
Demonstrated experience with integration and test of hardware/software systems and/or systems of systems
• Master's Degree in STEM related fields
• Ideal candidate will have lead large teams of 75+ individuals of varying disciplines
• Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Experience with Agile software development and DevSecOps methodologies
Experience with Intercontinental Ballistic Missile or Missile Defense programs
• Previous IATC experience at any level of build (unit, element, segment, subsystem, etc.)
- Experience in software development or data integration projects.
