Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking two SEIT Thread Leads to join our Sentinel Cyber Mission Defense Team (MDT) located in Roy, UT. One Thread Lead will be focused on Cyber Assurance scope and the other will be focused on Defensive Cyber Operations scope.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will effectively leverage skills spanning both interpersonal leadership and technical functions. You will be an enabler of effective collaboration and provide technical leadership in a team environment. This team is responsible for systems engineering cybersecure and cyber resilient solutions in support of the Sentinel program. Collaboration spans the weapon systems development efforts across the organization and multiple geographically dispersed sites across the United States. You will provide Cybersecurity Systems Engineering technical expertise to integrate horizontal and vertical cybersecure implementations for the Sentinel program's multi-network, multi-site, ground, airborne, and mobile terrestrial system of systems. This role is accountable for ensuring Cybersecurity is implemented across the full engineering development lifecycle, including software and hardware development efforts. This role is located on-site at the Roy, Utah facility.
Job Responsibilities:
Partner with the Cybersecurity Program Director and the MDT Cybersecurity Leadership Team (CSLT) in technical decision-making to ensure timely, high quality cybersecurity requirements, design, development solutions, product deliveries, and flight test event certifications to meet program mission objectives
Partner and collaborate with Chief Engineers, Chief Architects, and SEIT leads of diverse technical disciplines to develop solutions that satisfy program cybersecurity requirements and meet functional mission objectives
Coordinate and advocate Cybersecurity objectives with program leadership, customers, and customer contractors across multiple disciplines
Lead teams of Cybersecurity Systems Engineers in defining and developing cybersecure solutions across Sentinel multi-network program system development
Lead, coordinate, and collaborate Cybersecurity system engineering program execution across the extended Sentinel program team including the customer, all Northrop Grumman sectors, and supplier/subcontractor engineering teams
Ensure weapon system compliance with all contractually obligated cybersecurity standards and guidance, including but not limited to CNSSI 1253, DoD 8570, DoD 8510, and AFI 17-101
Develop and document technical standard engineering processes and procedures as needed
Actively support Engineering Review Boards reviewing Engineering work products and design changes to ensure alignment with Cybersecurity requirements
Conduct and lead cybersecurity technical reviews of requirements, architecture design, implementation, test plans, test procedures, etc. to ensure development solutions that meet program Cybersecurity requirements and mission objectives at an acceptable risk level
Lead Cybersecurity assessment activities and team reviews of Cybersecurity assessment methods, plans, procedures, and reports
Create milestones and metrics and monitor adherence to Cybersecurity-relevant plans and schedules
Identify issue and develop solutions, such as allocation of resources or adapting to changing contractual specifications
Apply analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of Cybersecurity implementation
Solve complex problems across disciplines in an Agile, DevSecOps environment
Mentor, train, and guide the development of junior Cybersecurity professionals on Cybersecurity technical expertise, Cybersecurity Systems Engineering expertise, program architecture, and related topics
Support screening and interviewing of prospective Cybersecurity professionals to join the Sentinel program and the Sentinel Cyber MDT
Support program Cost Account Management (CAM) statistical collection and reporting
Support Agile scrum planning, execution, and reporting
Prepare and present Cybersecurity technical content and program interests to customers, leadership, and program personnel of diverse backgrounds
Lead, coordinate, and support the efforts to build and deliver RMF packages to obtain IATT's and ATO's for the Sentinel program
Support Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and updates
Assess Sentinel architecture to identify Cybersecurity gaps and develop Cybersecurity protections solutions that resolve the identified gaps
Travel in support of assigned responsibilities and to enable collaboration up to 25% of the time
Basic Qualifications:
20 years of experience with a Bachelors degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline; 18 years of experience with Masters; 15 Years with a PhD; An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Certifications: Full DoD 8570 qualification at the IASAE level 3
Clearance: Active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI
At least 5 years of technical leadership experience
Experience in a Systems Engineering role with responsibilities spanning multiple facets of full life cycle development (bid & proposal, planning, requirements development, architecture design, implementation, integration, verification & validation, field testing, production and delivery of a system meeting cybersecurity requirements)
Fundamental knowledge of Systems Security Engineering practices
Preferred Qualifications:
Actively SAP briefed at the Secret and Top Secret levels on the Sentinel program
CISSP ISSEP certification
Demonstrated effective leadership of Cybersecurity Engineers across a complex organizational structure (multi-functional, geographically dispersed, etc.) with success dependent on successful collaboration
Expertise with all aspects of Systems Security Engineering as defined in NIST SP 800-160
Excellent communication (written and oral), negotiation and interpersonal skills
Experience effectively negotiating challenging program requirements, strategies, and conflicting objectives among a large and diverse group of program stakeholders
Experience with DoD Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) systems
Experience with High Assurance design and engineering efforts
Expertise with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and related tools such as DOORS, Cameo, etc.
Experience with certification of cryptographic devices
Proven collaboration with program managers and System Program Office (SPO) customer representatives to meet program objectives
Demonstrated ability to manage and direct efforts following an Agile and DevSecOps process model
Track record of successfully analyzing, estimating, and implementing solutions to complex problems spanning multiple engineering disciplines.
Experience bidding new work scope and developing Statements of Work
Salary Range: $188,700 - $283,100
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
