This is an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer who wants to work with cutting edge technology in a dynamic research environment. As a Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will be exposed to a variety of projects and technologies, with opportunities to provide advanced technical solutions for intelligence data handling, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Cyber-related national security projects.
Northrop Grumman will support you with training, employee resource groups, and our shared vision of global security. This Systems Engineer position is located at Northrop Grumman in Rome, NY.
As a systems engineer you will:
Work with a diverse, tightly integrated team of engineers to integrate systems that collect, process and exploit US Air Force, U.S. DoD and allied / coalition data feeds, data bases and intelligence sources to include: imagery, video, electronic / signals intelligence, cyber intelligence and other forms of geographically and temporally registered data
Perform system administration tasks for Windows and Linux environments
Support mission applications software development processes within an agile development process using system engineering tools such as VMware/vCenter, Git version control, Puppet, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Shell Scripting

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related STEM degree plus 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master of Science degree in Computer Science or related STEM degree plus 0 years of experience.
System administration experience with Windows and Unix/Linux systems
Experience with VMware and related products
Ability to work on small multi-disciplinary engineering teams
Current, active Secret Department of Defense (DoD) clearance
Ability to conduct Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) of architectures and technologies
Knowledge or experience in Services Oriented Architectures
Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
Familiarity with Puppet and DCGS enterprise services
Experience integrating capabilities with enterprise service buses
Enterprise computing/cloud computing architectures (public and/or private)
Virtual machines/secure virtualization techniques
Security engineering and C&A of DoD systems in accordance with DIACAP/DoD 8500
System functional and/or security testing
