Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) seeks to fill a Manager, Systems Engineering Level 3 position within Central Region Engineering (CRE) at our Rolling Meadows, IL location.
The selected candidate is expected to lead the RF Development Planning & Control functional team of approximately 15 to 20engineers in support ofmultiplebusiness Operating Units (OU) at the Rolling Meadows site. This position will report to the RF department manager for System Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT)and will also have dotted lineaccountability to three OU directors for the end-to-end technical performance, cost, schedule and staffingof programs within the supportedOUs. The supported OUs include Electronic Warfare Systems, Advanced Multispectral Integrated Solutions, and Emerging Capabilities Multifunction Systems.
Functional managers are responsible for their team's overall technical execution and performance to allocated cost and schedule requirements on assigned programs, while also providing technical contributions on programs as an individual contributor.
A summary of responsibilities include:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in an engineering / technical discipline.
Minimum of 10 years' related experience, preferably in an aerospace or defense oriented engineering environment.
2years of project management / IPT leadership / control account management experience.
Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills along with proven success working in an integrated product team environment.
High proficiency in technical problem solving, to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and monitoring.
This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret (or higher) clearance.
At least 5 years' functional management experience working in an engineering environment.
Experience with the Agile-Scrum development methodology.
Experience leadinglarge cross functional development projects.
Master's degree in an engineering discipline.
Current SAP/SAR accesses.
