Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an individual with strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills for the position of Manager of Pricing and Estimating 2 for the Rolling Meadows Campus . This position supports the Electronic Warfare and Targeting business area and with diverse business needs ranging from government negotiated procurements to direct commercial procurements. We will consider a hybrid work schedule, but this is not open to full time remote work.
What You'll Get to Do:
This position is responsible for the direct management of Pricing and Estimating support for two different operating units located in Rolling Meadows IL and one operating unit located in Amherst, NY . This is a fast-paced proposal environment that collaborates heavily with capture and proposal teams to develop pricing and win strategies while ensuring compliance and schedule adherence. The Manager of Pricing and Estimating will facilitate the development, planning and scheduling of proposals in accordance with customer Requests for Proposals (RFP) and ensure the review of all proposals for current, accurate and complete information. This individual will lead a team of more than 20+ professionals and will be responsible for establishing goals, assessing individual and team performance, lead the development and growth of team members, and assuring the delivery of timely, quality and accurate product.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Estimating System compliance, advise leadership of pricing requirements/obligations and provide interpretation of Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
Allocation of workload to staff
Represent the business area as a prime internal and external contact on programs, major proposals and initiatives within Pricing and Business Management to include proposal reviews, capture reviews, and independent cost estimate reviews.
Interact with personnel and management at all levels concerning matters of significance to the company related to cost proposals. Will interface and coordinate with other business management leaders and staff on a daily basis.
Lead business area Pricing and Estimating department interactions with the Defense Contract Audit Agency and Defense Contract Management Agency
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Also helps by developing personal growth opportunities for employees.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and minimum of 9 years relevant Pricing and/or Business experience or 7 years with a Master's Degree including minimum 2 years of leadership/exposure.
Thorough knowledge of FAR/DFARS and other applicable government regulations.
Comprehensive knowledge of pricing, contracts, and business management Experience with U.S. Government, commercial, and international proposals. Experience with validation of estimates, estimating approaches, customer negotiations, and data driven estimating.
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to initiate and effectively implement process improvement across the breadth of pricing and estimating policies and procedures
Demonstrated strengths will include a highly collaborative work style, the ability to anticipate problems, success in resolving difficult situations and effectively communicate with all levels of stakeholders.
Demonstrated success in leading and developing cross functional teams.
U.S. citizen and ability to obtain government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or other relevant master's degree
Prior experience managing a team of professionals
Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
Current security clearance
International proposal experience

Salary Range: $128,400 - $192,600
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
