Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector is seeking a T2 Process Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Rolling Meadows, IL location. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's manufacturing engineering team working on our Targeting and Navigation suite of products. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic, people and mission-focused environment where he/she will interact with a cross functional team of individuals including product designers, manufacturing technicians, quality engineering and program management. The responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Designing manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling

  • Ensuring processes and procedures are compliant with applicable regulations

  • Creating and maintaining production documentation such as work instructions, process documents and production routers

  • Incorporating inspection and test requirements into production plans

  • Providing guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques

  • Transitioning new products from design to production

  • Overseeing tooling and equipment design to improve product manufacturability

  • Initiating and investigating the corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality

  • Collecting and analyzing process data, and using it for the continuous improvement of products and processes

Basic Qualifications T2 (Process Engineer)

  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, physics or a closely related discipline plus at least 2 years relevant work experience

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate effective verbal and written communication across functional areas

  • Strong analytical and problems solving skills

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications

  • Fluency in MS Office software applications

  • Ability to work full time in the manufacturing facility (remote work not offered)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (U.S Citizenship Required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in computer aided design with special consideration given to experience with NX CAD

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in manufacturing engineering

  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management

  • Proficiency with JIRA and/or Confluence

  • Hands on experience creating and maintaining process documentation

  • Experience with root cause and corrective action tools such as 5-Why analysis, fishbone diagrams, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and DMAIC problem solving

  • Knowledge of and experience with Lean manufacturing principles

  • Active Secret clearance or higher

MANUMS

Salary Range: $73,600 - $110,400

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
