Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Rolling Meadows, IL. As an integral member of the Quick Reaction Capabilities (QRC) Support Center team, the Electrical Engineer will participate in design and development, and modifications to systems ranging from laboratory test stations, transportable flight line electronic combat system test sets, and airborne RF and IR systems.
Perform practical engineering assignments as an integral contributor in product sustainment, design, development and test activities.
Investigate, evaluate cost vs performance trades and make recommendations to resolve parts obsolescence issues.
Support and/or lead evaluation/validation of electrical systems by creating, editing and performing test procedures utilized during design qualification (such as EMI/EMC) and acceptance testing.
Work with other engineers, designers and technicians in developing product designs.
Hands-on electrical integration and test of hardware, such as electronic or electro-mechanical components, circuits or systems.
Coordinate and lead electronic technicians performing support functions such as integration, test and maintenance of electronic airborne and ground-based systems and assemblies.
Proficient with standard EE tools, such as oscilloscope, DMM, RF spectrum analyzer, etc.
• Bachelors Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering discipline
• Minimum of 2 years experience with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters
• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance
• Demonstrated communication skills including technical writing and verbal communication.
• Experience in the design, development and test, or sustainment of airborne electronic systems.
• Digital circuit design experience, including simulation & schematic capture through test and integration.
• Prototyping and debug experience testing digital subsystems, such as circuit card development involving FPGAs, and/or embedded processors, and/or high speed interfaces.
