Job Description:

  • Perform routine production line tasks with minimal supervision in the functional area of welding.

  • Must maintain high quality through application of the most effective welding techniques, including explicitly following all procedures and setup sheets.

  • Manual fusion welding using the tungsten inert gas method

  • Semi-automated fusion welding using the tungsten inert gas method.

  • Metallic arc welding.

  • Manual fusion welding using the metal inert gas method.

  • Visual and dimensional inspection of welds in accordance with specifications and drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • Weld pressure vessels.

  • Weld structural parts and assemblies.

  • Operate pre- and post-heat ovens.

  • Lay out locations and make setups as required.

  • Maintain neat and orderly work area.

  • Assemble tooling according to established procedures.

  • Operate any process in accordance with the procedures and setup sheets.

  • Clean and prepare parts for welding.

  • Operate hand grinding equipment.

  • Operate wash tanks.

  • Operate CNC controls for semi-automated equipment.

  • Assure that all gages and necessary documentation are in the work area.

  • Fill out required documentation to indicate completion of welding process.

  • Must have basic computer skills and be able to input data into electronic work instructions.

  • Operate material handling devices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a vision acuity and color perception test yearly.

  • Must be able to pass and maintain customer certifications in accordance with applicable military specifications including AWS D17.1 Class A.

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 5 years' experience in all types of welding work, including a minimum of 3 years' of TIG welding and a prior certification required.

  • Essential reading skills required.

  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
