We are currently seeking talented individuals for a Quality Systems Assistant 2 position at the Rocket Center, WV location just outside of Cumberland MD. The Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL) site in Rocket Center designs, develops, and manufactures tactical rocket motors, medium caliber ammunition, composite components and end items, and fuze and electronics equipment. For decades, the dedicated and highly skilled team at ABL have supported national security efforts by developing and building defense systems for DoD customers and U.S. allies.

Rocket Center, WV is located along the North Branch Potomac River in Mineral County, West Virginia and is home to the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL), a government installation operated by Northrop Grumman. Known for its scenic mountain landscapes, rolling hills and state parks, the region offers a multitude of outdoor recreational opportunities to include hiking, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, hunting and whitewater rafting. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems designs, builds, and delivers space, defense, and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems, and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.

Additional Job Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure incoming production materials and components meet engineering and configuration requirements.

  • Review and complete identified inspections according to manufacturing and inspection records and requirements.

  • Provide analysis and data to support program investigations. Assist in First Article Inspections (FAI).

  • Prepare and present hardware and material packages to external customers for acceptance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of experience

  • Must be a U.S Citizen with the ability to ability a security clearance

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Quality Management Systems for product acceptance. (Solumina)

  • Experience using Inventory Management Systems for inventory location and status. (Cost Point)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Nonconformance reporting systems.

  • Experience using DOD standards and specifications along with program drawings for determining certification and inspection report compliance.

  • Excellent communication skills to explain and resolve issues with Program Team, DCMA and vendors.

Salary Range: $42,000 - $70,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
