SSSD has an opening for a Technical Operations Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
This Technical Operations Lead will focus on supporting the director in executing day-to-day operations as well as long-term strategic planning and initiatives.
Lead and manage monthly execution reviews for IRAD and CRAD
Coordinate cross-division collaboration and collaboration within the space program portfolio
Primary interface to the Sector Technology Council (STC) and STC lead for Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD)
Support staffing and team onboarding
Organize and lead staff meetings
Manage the overall team calendar

Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 9+ years of engineering experience OR
Master's degree in a STEM (Science, technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 7+ years of engineering experience
PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 4+ years of experience in engineering experience
Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:
Dept. of Defense Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years OR
SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years OR
Dept. of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years OR
Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work within an abstract and dynamic environment
Team-player with willingness to jump in to help the team through critical milestones
Open and transparent collaborator
Ability to think outside the box and drive evolution
Experience with new business development, captures, proposals
Technical knowledge/expertise in RF, digital, communication, and/or spacecraft systems as well as systems engineering.
