Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for the AMP Ground Element Systems Engineering Subproject Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The selected candidate will report directly to the Ground Element SEIT Director providing direction and leadership to multiple thread based Systems Engineering teams working to design, develop, integrate, and deliver a highly complex Ground C&C system several times to multiple locations. This includes coordination across multiple thread-based teams supporting numerous AMP projects and other GE IPTs, with customer and third-party stakeholders. The SE SPM provides leadership of a team of Systems Engineers and is responsible for managing execution and product development through the lifecycle of the GE delivery milestones. Must be able to make decisions with minimal support and effectively communicate and present to the GE SEIT Director, GE Project management, and other technical managers and customers, to ensure program needs are met.
Provides management and technical direction to Ground Systems Engineering thread leads
Champions a scaled Agile framework and serves as a Product Manager of SE work products. As a Product Manager, the AMP GE SE SPM will interact with Product Owners of the cross-functional teams for the completion of work products.
Provide leadership and review of proposal efforts (e.g., BPEs, CROMs, ECPs)
Cost account management of SE organization, including forecast monitoring, variance explanations, and cost/schedule lien evaluation and preparation
Management of Risk and Opportunity processes
Management of GE verification activities and coordination with other Project, third-party stakeholders and the customer
Oversight of GE SE activities, including tracking product deliveries and milestone (CDA, CDR) preparation
Review of SE generated design reviews, test reviews, Engineering Summaries, I&T milestone chart packages and related documentation
Coordination with SEIT IPT leads, other GE Project and Program management, and third-party stakeholders

14 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 12 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 9 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Understanding of systems engineering and systems integration principles and processes
Experience as a cost account manager utilizing the earned value management system
Experience with Agile Systems Engineering and Agile DevSecOps
Familiarity with Cyber Systems Engineering
Active SCI access
Prior experience to include AMP program, leadership for a system engineering team, management of one or more phases of a technical program, proposals, ECP's and engagement in technical negotiations with the customer.
EVMS experience on an Agile program
Experience with the GE architecture, requirements baseline, verification approaches, and execution of GE delivery milestones
Effectively communicate and present to directors, other technical managers and customers
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering
