Northrop Grumman SSSD has an opening for a Systems Engineering Asst. Project Manager, Dir 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA . This is a major function within a large, strategic program.
As the Asst. Project Manager, you will:
Serve as Space Vehicle lead systems engineer for a multi-satellite constellation of multi-payload space platforms.
Lead and Manage the space vehicle system engineering team which includes responsibilities for
requirements development and maintanence,
design development and integration,
specialty engineering (e.g. EMC, contamination control),
interface management and control,
configuration control; verification of units, subsystems, software, and vehicles;
and support to vehicle and system assembly, integration, test & operations activities.
Spearhead Digital Transformation efforts across the Space Vehicle Project, including the incremental adoption of MBSE best practices balanced with execution on a high heritage program.
Work directly with government customers and product suppliers, including delivering technical and programmatic briefings and design reviews to high level government acquisition officers
Be responsible for planning, risk management and project performance addressing cost, schedule, and technical quality for large space system development and systems integration type contract.
Support development of new business studies & proposal generation.
Maintain cost management and earned value reporting over the life of the program.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with ten (10) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience within the Space and Defense industry.
Five (5) years of experience successfully leading people/teams, projects, and/or programs to goal attainment.
Demonstrated ability to develop and foster an inclusive work environment that attracts, retains, and inspires diverse and engaged teams.
Ability to effectively communicate across various levels of the organization verbally and written, including presentation skills.
Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:
Dept of Defense Top Secret level with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
OR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed
OR Dept of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
Active/In-Scope SCI Clearance
Masters Degree from an accreddited institution with fourteen (14) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience within the Space and Defense industry.
