We are seeking a team member who wants to solve interesting, complex problems to help protect our nation. We are a trusted mission payload and ground system provider with extensive experience providing end-to-end mission solutions from concept through operations and support. The team you will support is located at our Space Park campus in Redondo Beach, CA.
What you'll get to do?
As the Chief Software Architect within the Ground SEIT IPT you will provide advanced knowledge of design concepts and best practices, technical guidance to the Ground Segment, provide leadership & vision to identify point of contention & COAs leading to closure plans and resolution, and coordination with other IPTs & leadership.
Some key tasks:
Focused refinement of processes and execution paradigms ensuring requirements and tests align with system expectations.
Chair for the Ground Architecture Working Group (GrAWG)
Provide program wide visibility to penitential design/architecture changes and collaborative discussions regarding high priority topics.
Ground Chief Engineer Delegate of Authority (DOA)
DOA duties include Ground TRB Chair, Program TRB/CCB Ground IPT representative.
Program TRB/CCB impact assessments
Deep knowledge and understanding of Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
Set/manage customer and internal/external stakeholder expectations while prioritizing key program initiatives (schedule, cost, quality, etc.)
Ground SEIT representation at Program System Architecture Working Group (AWG) and Space to Ground ICD Working Group (SGICD WG).
Key Stakeholder at Ground Software Architecture Council (SAC).
CDRL Management - document owner for Software Design Document (SDD) and Software Architecture Document (SAD).
Work with MBSE Lead and System SEIT to ensure technical accuracy of System Architecture Mode (SAM)
Ground Segment Subject Matter Expert (SME) & Technical Point of Contact (POC).
Coordination w/ Ground Thread Leads and System SEIT.
Basic Qualifications for a Staff Systems Engineer (Integration and Test Lead):
Bachelor's degree in STEM with 14 years of Software related experience, or a Master's degree in STEM with 12 years of related experience, or a PhD with 9 Years of related experience
Understanding the software design concepts and identifying point of contention, resolve issues with IPT leadership and lead the closure plans between the IPTs.
Deep knowledge and understanding of Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
Ability to work/coordinate with technically diverse groups up people, both within the Ground IPT in PGSD, as well as with the SSSD Prime
Ability to set/manage customer and internal/external stakeholder expectations while also prioritizing key program initiatives (schedule, cost, quality, etc.)
Ability to navigate and negotiate baseline updates between IPTs to address identified technical concerns.
Familiarity with Cameo Enterprise Architecture / Teamwork Cloud
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access or active SCI access
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Agile development
Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers, and customers
Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts
Excellent technical writing and team building skills
Salary Range: $161,000 - $241,400
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
