The Integration Support Group (ISG) has an opening for a Staff Network Engineer to design and perform the installation and configuration of network products, including Cisco switches, routers and firewalls. Installation activities include initial setup following standard configuration guidelines, security hardening, cabling, labeling, documentation and checkout. Ongoing tasks include problem resolution, firewall changes, connection additions, moves and changes, monitoring.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance in all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing systems

  • Implement a communication system requirement to support distributed functionality of a software engineering environment

  • Analyze network characteristics

  • Troubleshoots network and system problems

  • Design and plan network communications systems including the specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements

  • Conduct testing of network design, maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.

  • Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Basic Qualifications:

  • No active security clearance needed; must have the ability to obtain SCI access prior to start date

  • Bachelor's degree with 14 years of related experience, or a master's degree with 12 years of related experience, or a PhD with 9 years of related experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Ability to obtain a Cyber Security certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Cyber Security Certification

  • Information Assurance experience related to Certification and Accreditation

  • System Admin knowledge for Linux or Windows is beneficial

  • Experience in developing networks from design through implementation

  • Experience with CISCO IOS or NX-OS

  • Experience with network test gear to resolve technical issues at all layers of OSI model

  • Experience configuring and maintaining Multicast networking

  • Experience configuring routers for EIGRP, OSPF, IP Multicast Protocols

  • Experience configuring firewalls

  • Current SCI clearance and an adjudicated CI Poly is a definite plus

Salary Range: $146,000 - $219,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
