Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Aeronautical CFD Analysis Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be at Northrop Grumman's South Bay Center of Excellence (CoE) located in Redondo Beach, CA.

Position Overview:

The selected Staff Aeronautical CFD Analysis Engineer will analyze the performance of installed propulsion systems and execute on integration trades to support design studies in conceptual and preliminary design programs. The selected candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary design environment and interact with aerodynamics, power and thermal management systems, mass properties, and others to support vehicle performance design and modeling initiatives.

The selected candidate will have broad multi-disciplinary experience and work within the (CFD) Computational Fluid Dynamics group as well as the multi-disciplinary design analysis and optimization (MDAO) group.

Essential Functions:

  • Mathematical / Computational (CFD) Modeling

  • Provide expertise and analysis in aerodynamics, mathematics, CFD, static load methods, and aircraft sizing & performance.

  • Develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.

  • Coordinate clear communication between and with other engineering disciplines
