Northrop Grumman SSSD has an opening for a Software Quality Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA .
As a Software Quality Engineer, you will help develop, modify, apply, and maintain standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures. You will conduct software inspections, support software testing, requirement analysis and assist in verification and validation activities of our software. You will help develop overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. You will ensure that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract.
Review customer, system and software requirements to ensure the flow down of requirements is complete and unambiguous.
Review and verify design documents meet appropriate standards.
Review source code and provide technical feedback and solutions alternatives.
Participate in contractual reviews and audits, program/IPT meetings, and configuration control board meetings.
Perform process audits of software development processes to assure compliance to established policies, procedures, work instructions, and program specific plans.
Examine the products associated with the preparation and configuration control of software test environments to assess the team's readiness to enter formal testing.
Witness execution of software qualification and system acceptance tests to ensure tests are executed in accordance with approved test procedures, requirements are fully verified, and that all test procedure and software anomalies are documented and tracked to closure.
Evaluate and ensure software suppliers possess the capability and capacity necessary to execute and deliver procured software with unquestionable quality.
Facilitate thorough root cause analysis on major findings and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are developed and implemented in a timely manner.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited institution and a minimum 2 years of experience in Software Quality, Software Engineering or related discipline
OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited institution and a minimum 0 years of experience
Experience in computer programming languages(s) (e.g. C, C++, C#, Java, Java Script, etc.)
Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and reviewing software requirements
Familiarity creating software metrics(e.g. test pass/fail, audit findings, peer review actions)
Active DoD Government Secret clearance OR DOE L Clearance
Experience communicating and collaborating with a team
Professional experience in computer programming language(s) (e.g. C, C++, C#, Java, Java Script, etc.)
Experience working with Agile processes
Experience with creating Software Quality Assurance Plans
Experience presenting to groups/customers
