Northrop Grumman Software Mission Assurance Engineer 2/3 in Redondo Beach, California

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Software Mission Assurance Engineer 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Space ISR SystemsDivision. We are looking for a high-caliber individual with a background in software program execution, software development, software systems engineering, software mission/quality assurance and/or process improvement to join the Mission Assurance organization.

The candidate selected will monitor and improve mission/quality assurance system elements that assure program execution and customer goal satisfaction. The Mission Assurance (MA) Engineer will support one or more intelligence community SOFTWARE programs in the Redondo Beach area.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The MA Engineer will ensure compliance with all MA related contractual requirements, and sector/division policies and procedures, while contributing to the program's effective process implementation.

Tasks will include:

Independently assessing program and supplier risks, cost, and schedule; conducting process and product audits; and performing supplier assurance.

Assuring the quality of software and hardware engineering and test verification activities, and participating in software development and test peer reviews.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of software mission assurance principles, the discipline to enforce them, and will possess strong communication skills and the ability to work closely and effectively with program personnel.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

The Basic Qualifications for a Mission Assurance Engineer Level 2 are:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 2+ years of related experience in supporting systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, software development, software test processes, or program management.

Good understanding of software development.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Being organized and a self-motivator.

An active DOD Secret clearance

The Basic Qualifications for a Mission Assurance Engineer Level 3 are:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 5+ years of related experience in supporting systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, software development, software test processes, or program management.

Good understanding of software development.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Being organized and a self-motivator.

An active DOD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

Software development management or program management experience

Mission Assurance or Process experience

Six Sigma Green Belt certification

Good understanding of the specific CMMI and AS9100 Standards impacting program performance.

Good understanding of the specific NGMS Policies and Procedures impacting program performance.

Active SCI Clearance
