SSSD has an opening for a Principal Mission Assurance Supplier Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach CA .
As a Principal Mission Assurance Supplier Engineer you will collaborate with program management, engineering, subcontracts/procurement functional management and supplier management teams to ensure that all procurements meet or exceed the requirements of external and internal customers. You will define the Supplier MA program within the scope of contract requirements and NG policies and processes. You will coordinate and oversee Mission Assurance Supplier implementation over all program phases.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list
Evaluates supplier-non-conformances, negative performance trends and failures and determines root cause and implements corrective and preventive actions
Supports the Commodity Engineering Teams responsible for the procurement of space-qualified EEE components, mechanisms, mechanical parts and assemblies
Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status and risks

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field with five (5) years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering or other relevant discipline
OR a Masters degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field with three (3) years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or other relevant discipline
Three (3) years of experience with spacecraft and/or EEE hardware manufacturing
Experience working with nonconforming material investigations and root cause and corrective actions
Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications to document and relay information to various stakeholders
Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Government Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in SAP and MES data management systems
Knowledge of supply chain management processes
Active DoD Government Security Clearance
