Northrop Grumman is seeking a senior level High Performance Computing (HPC) Systems Software Engineer to work in our Redondo Beach, CA facility. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Enterprise Services team- a team of highly skilled and diverse individuals responsible for the build out and support of a collateral secret enterprise infrastructure that supports multiple programs across every Northrop Grumman sector.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Translate high level requirements into well-architected, and well-tested, design and implementation

  • Provide technical planning, system integration, verification & validation, cost & risk evaluation, and supportability & effectiveness analyses for total systems

  • Manage HPC system life-cycle: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal

  • Monitor and report HPC system health/metrics

  • Identify performance bottlenecks

  • Modify system wide parameters to improve performance

  • Evaluate effects of any system changes and take appropriate action

  • Perform system administrator duties

  • Identify and repair system hardware faults

  • Manage/Assist technical users running jobs on HPC systems

The HPC Engineer researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. Involved in planning of system and development deployment, as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system. Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.
