The Ordnance Engineering Section, working under the Environmental, Structures, & Test Lab Operations, is seeking an ordnance engineer to join our diverse team. This unique position offers you the opportunity to work in the field of ordnance and release devices for spacecraft deployments and launch separation. The ordnance team is responsible for the entire life-span of flight and non-flight ordnance and release devices, from design and development through final integration, test, and launch. This position requires you to work closely with system engineering and design integration during the initial design, development, procurement, and testing as well as the Assembly, Integration, & Test teams to perform ordnance/release device installation, deployments and launch.
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2+ years of applicable experience OR Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
Basic mechanical and electrical theory
Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD and SSBI Security Clearance.
Must be able to work multiple shifts and weekendsas the business needs dictate
A good working knowledge of ordnance and release devices
Current Active SSBI Clearance
Experience with mechanical Assembly, Integration, and Test
Experience with electronic equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, meters, pressure transducers)
