Northrop Grumman Network Engineer in Redondo Beach, California
Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking a qualified Network Engineer Level 3 or 4 to perform installation and configuration of network products: switches, routers and firewalls. Installation activities include: initial setup following standard configuration guidelines, cabling, labeling, documentation and checkout. Ongoing tasks include: connection additions, moves and changes, monitoring, plus problem resolution. This position is located in Redondo Beach, CA.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide assistance in all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing systems
Implement a communication system requirements to support distributed functionality of a software engineering environment
Analyze network characteristics
Troubleshoot network and system problems
This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 3: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years of network engineering experience; Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of network experience. Basic Qualifications for a Level 4: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 9 years of network engineering experience; Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of network experience.
To be considered for this position, you must also minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Experience in developing networks from design through implementation
Experience with network test gear to resolve technical issues at all layers of OSI model
Current SCI access or current DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access prior to start date
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Experience configuring routers for EIGRP, OSPF, IP Multicast Protocols
Experience configuring firewalls
VMWare installation and operations
Serial data communication
Information Assurance experience related to Certification and Accreditation
System Admin knowledge for Linux or Windows is beneficial
Must be able and willing to be on-call for some minimal after hours calls.
