Northrop Grumman Classified Infrastructure Enterprise Services is seeking a well-qualified Network Communications Administrator to join its dynamic team of technical professionals in the Redondo Beach, CA area.

Roles and responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Assist the team to maintain smooth operation of LAN/WAN/VPNs.

  • Installs and configures network hardware in support of customer requirements.

  • Maintains and improves technical abilities in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc.

  • Proposes solutions to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.

  • Creates and ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.

  • Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.

  • Perform troubleshooting and resolution of network infrastructure and associated systems.

  • Install and configure Cisco routers, switches and firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls.

  • Implement and troubleshoot LAN technologies such as VLANs, Trunking (port tagging), Spanning-Tree, and Port Security.

  • Provide third-level support and troubleshooting of network problems.

  • Implement and troubleshoot WAN technologies such as EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, and telco circuits (T1, T3, OC3)

  • Interface with customers to manage customer installation timelines and deliverables to help facilitate successful deployments.

  • Support an enterprise network. Recommends data, voice or video network investment decisions to management based on results of independent assessment of current and future network performance, stability, and network management issues.

  • Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience OR Master's degree in related field and 0 years of experience, OR 6 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance

  • IAT Level II certification (ex: Security+ CE) or greater

  • Familiarity with networking protocols, routing, and switching.

  • Familiarity with networking hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls in a LAN and WAN environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in IS related field.

  • Currently active DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance.

  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE.

  • Experience maintaining LAN & WAN based networks.

  • Experience with managing routing protocols on large LAN environments.

  • Experience with Cisco hardware and setting up switched networks

  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.

  • Current CASP, CISSP, or similar DoD 8570 security certification, and the ability to maintain the required certification as a condition of continued employment.

  • Previous experience troubleshooting network procedures and best practices; experience with network challenges associated with systems integration, including COTS integration, capacity analysis and system architecture design.

  • Demonstrated experience in the use of network analysis tools (i.e. WireShark, Opnet, SolarWinds, etc.).

  • Experience working with a team of IT professionals.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

  • Ability to work after hours and on weekends as needed.

Salary Range: $77,100 - $115,700

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
