We are looking for a Manager of Machining Manufacturing to support fabrication in a segment of a program or a function. Are you passionate about leading all aspects of program performance in an environment that supports a large or mid-size technical service-type contract? Do you have a consistent track record of interpreting and executing policies and procedures that affect subordinates? If you love mentoring, developing, and motivating your team to accomplish results, then this role may be right for you!

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Function as an advisor to unit regarding tasks, projects, and operations

  • Provide direction to subordinates based on general policies and management guidelines

  • Be recognized as a subject matter expert for your scope of work, having full working knowledge of procedures and practices

  • Interpret and execute policies, and recommend modifications to operating policies

  • Lead projects and task assigned to the organizational group performed by non-exempt and/or exempt employees, you will become involved only when required to assist in meeting schedules or to resolve technical or operational problems.

  • Ensure projects are on schedule and within budget

  • Accomplish results through lower-level subordinate supervisors or through experienced exempt employees who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments. Often head a centralized functional activity.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BSDegree plus5 years of experience as Mechanical Technician with technical experience in manufacturing or leading a team in the disciplines of machined piece part fabrication, processing and precision assembly. OR enrolled in accredited BS degree program and15 years of experience as Mechanical Technician with technical experience in manufacturing or leading a team in the disciplines of machined piece part fabrication, processing and precision assembly.

  • Machine shop fabrication experience

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance and special access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills
