Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Mechanical Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The selected candidate performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. Drafts detailed drawings for fabrication. Devices, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.
The ideal candidate MUST have:
• Extensive CNC machining skills including the ability to program complex 3 and 5-axis parts using Mastercam.
• Prior experience programming and running Haas and/or Mazak CNC machines.
• Conventional machining skills as well as the ability to read and understanding engineering drawings, specifications and blueprints.
Strong communication skills as this position will be supporting and interacting with various organizations and individuals on a daily basis
High School Diploma/GED and minimum 9 years of CNC machining experience.
Must have strong knowledge of Mastercam to program 3 and 5-axis parts.
Minimum 5 or more years of experience running Mazak CNC machines and/or Haas Machines.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance and meet the approval process for individual SAR program access.
Must be willing to work 1st or 2nd shift and overtime as needed.
12 or more years of related CNC machining experience.
Current Secret security clearance and ability to meet the approval process for individual SAR program access.
