Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aMechanical Technical3 (2nd Shift)to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

The ideal candidate will haveexperienceperforming a variety of machinist responsibilities which may include and is not limited tothe following:

  • Capable of manufacturing very complex close tolerance machined hardware in a variety of materials, from Titanium, Invar, Kovar, Inconel, Fiberglass Epoxy, Aluminum etc.

  • Capable of using FADAL ,HAAS & Mazak CNC milling and turning machines as well as using all manual support equipment and inspection tools to manufacture hardware with little or no direct supervision.

  • Programming in MasterCam (or similar programs), creating geometry or using Solid Models, IGES, STEP, DXF files, and 3 dimensional advanced programming techniques is a must.

  • Will program, setup and produce the machine part. will be using Mazak I300 and Tsagami Swiss Machine.

  • Will use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance per ANSI 14.5M 1982/1994 specifications to interpret true position and tolerance requirements.

  • Willingness to work overtime when needed to satisfy customer requirements.

2nd shift position. Working hours on a 9/80 schedule from 3:30 PM until 1:00 AM

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA Degree plus3 years of experience as Mechanical Technician/ Machinist OR High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of experience as Mechanical Technician/ Machinist

  • 4years experience of programing skills using Mastercam (or similar)

  • Experienceprograming, setup and then produce parts with minimum supervision

  • Experiencemanufacturing very complex close tolerance machined hardware in a variety of materials, from Titanium, Invar, Kovar, Inconel, Fiberglass Epoxy, Aluminum etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on Mazak I300, and Tsagami Swiss Machine

  • Experience in wire and plunge EDM.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills
