Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Mgr Systems Engineering 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

The selected candidate willperform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

This role is responsible for providing the Requirements, Verification and CMDM APM leadership support in managing, improving, and enforcing the processes that build the platform for R&V and CMDM to enable success with multiple IPTs through final sell off.

Essential Functions:

-Comprehensive leadership responsibility for Program System Design Reviews, NG System Engineering process adherence and improvements, Configuration and Data Management, system requirements management, system verification and selloff, and vehicle Pre-Ship Readiness Reviews.

-Develop close ties with the customer and across the NG program portfolio at the technical, management, and leadership levels to enable productive issue discussions and quick resolution

-Provide innovative thought leadership through affordability initiatives to bring forward and incorporate cost and schedule efficiencies.

-Manage multiple cost accounts, team hiring and development, risk identification and management to resolution.

-Rapid responses to proposal activity.

Candidates must be overall system/big picture thinkers with demonstrated leadership in systems engineering and technical management. Candidates must also have a drive for process improvements, implementing process efficiencies, and process ownership with the ability to enforce the established processes across a large portfolio. Proven ability to adapt quickly, solve problems, resolve conflict, lead in dynamic environments with frequent change, and interface directly with high level customers and senior/executive company leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Science degreein STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) disciplinewith 7+ years of engineering experience OR

  • Master's Science degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5+ years of engineering experience

  • Previous systems engineering experience

  • Previous CAM experience

  • Current SCI or SSBI security clearance is required, restricted program access required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
