The Environmental and Specialty Test (E&ST) department in the Materials, Manufacturing, Integration, Test and Launch (M2IT&L) directorate is looking for a Hazardous Operations Section manager to lead a team of engineers and technicians to support space programs.
The Hazardous Operations department works across all Space programs to provide Ordnance, Propulsion and Propellant Loading operations. The Hazardous Operations Section Manager will manage department daily operations including technician scheduling/staffing, equipment maintenance/calibration, and ordering of consumables and small assets. This role includes the management of people, processes, assets, and indirect budgets related to the execution of Ordnance and Propulsion activities.
This position has both functional and program responsibilities.
Functional Responsibilities Include:
Employee coaching, development and cross-training
Employee performance evaluations
Special assignments in support of the functional homeroom
Capital asset and preventative maintenance planning
Program Responsibilities Include:
Forecasting staffing and test resource utilization
Work with programs to schedule operations and deconflict departmental manpower and resources
Provide proposal support and cost estimates for new programs
Participation in various reviews (design, test readiness, pre-ship, etc.)
