The Ground Product Engineering & Advance Programs Department based in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking talented Engineering Execution Lead interested in development of Digital and RF hardware focused on ground-based applications. This position is Engineering Execution Lead role is for COAST Next Program HW&L group.

The Engineer Execution Lead will be responsible for providing operational support to the HW&L team for every aspect of day-to-day program execution. The individual will have responsibility for helping lead a multi-discipline engineering team and help guide all program activities related to design, development, testing, and delivery of the technical products as it relates to contractual cost, schedule, and performance commitments. The Engineering Execution Lead serves an integral role in cultivating the Customer relationship, actively managing team requirements, and shaping and nurturing program and team culture. The position requires a high degree of collaboration skills with the ability to provide insight into the status of multiple efforts at various levels of leadership. The preferred candidates bring a strong mix of both technical and management skills in the ground system domain.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate/interface across multiple IPTs to meet program funded efforts

  • Leading, directing, and supporting cross-functional team members to meet program cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives

  • Identifying, allocating, and managing program resources, including workforce planning

  • Development and adherence to budget baselines, applying cost & schedule control methodologies and tools

  • Schedule management, including labor and material forecast monitoring, variance explanations, and cost/schedule lien evaluation and preparation

  • Managing suppliers to meet program objectives

  • Measuring and reporting program performance and metrics

  • Manage risk, issues, and opportunity processes. Identify potential risks and opportunities that could impact program performance and take proactive action to resolve issues regarding cost and schedule

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customer counterparts

  • Communicate effectively and clearly present at program reviews and boards

  • Deliver presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders

  • Adherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards

The ideal candidate has strong experience in project management and communication skills. This person will be working on COAST Next Program which is an Operational and Maintenance program that supports domestic and international ground facilities. This position has opportunity to travel both domestically and internationally.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in related field plus 5 years of experience in a technical role OR a Master's of Science Degree in related field plus 3 years of experience in a technical role

  • 5 years of experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements

  • Issue & Problem Resolution: The ability to identify and address program impacts through a systematic, proactive, approach to issue and problem resolution that identifies, communicates, monitors, and promptly resolves conflicts across all levels of the program.

  • Planning, Scheduling: The ability to initiate, develop, integrate, execute, direct and control program plans and cost and schedule baselines that meet both program contractual requirements and stakeholder expectations.

  • Technical Performance: The ability to establish and apply a technical performance baseline to monitor and compare key program technical performance measures, assess program and product status, and take appropriate action to maintain conformance with the baseline.

  • Candidate must have an active U.S. Government SCI security clearance.

Salary Range: $147,800 - $221,800

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
