Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Simulation Software Engineer, Software Administrator/Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California

with responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following:

Position Summary / Responsibilities

Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

This position is for a Network Administrator and Software Simulation Engineer on a new program. The pace is up-tempo, the duties are varied, and the role and responsibilities can expand based on the performance of the individual selected. Frequent and effective liaison with other teams is an essential part of this role. Recurrent travel to support Program activities may be required.

A Network Administrator will work with users and Security to establish network requirements, specifications, and protocols. This candidate will be support for installation and maintenance of the computing environment, installation of upgrades, and the monitoring and maintenance of network performance. Simulation Systems supports test, training, and certification by providing simulation of elements such as communications, radars, weapons, and navigation. The candidate for this position must be able to support development of and maintain Real-Time Hardware in the Loop Simulation Systems and including all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle

The candidate will also be expected to provide support to planning, design, and installation of a new or modified System Integration Laboratory (SIL) facility for aerospace programs.

Software & Network Admin experience:

  • Design, installation, operation, and management (including Security) of network, servers, switches, network connected devices, and all data communications

  • Real-time aerospace simulation

  • Real-time mission systems modeling & simulation

  • Near-real-time execution of mission models using interconnected Virtual Machines (VM)

  • Real-time visualization of data

Other Desired experience:

  • Laboratory hardware/software/network procurement

  • Laboratory integration and check-out



Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors of Science in a STEM major; or 3 years relevant experience with an MS

  • Ability to support the design, installation, operation, and management (including Security) of network, servers, switches, network connected devices, and all data communications

  • Ability to support the planning and execution of system level software simulation activities

  • Ability to support definition of tools and processes for system level software simulation activities, requirements verification

  • Ability to interface effectively a multi-disciplined team of personnel including but not limited to; Design Engineers, Software Engineers, Test Engineers, Technicians, Planners, Kitters, Parts Integration personnel, Security

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with full Investigation within the last 6 years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous or current Special Access Program (SAP) clearance; and the ability to gain additional SAP clearances
