Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Engineer Software 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

The selected candidate will develop and implement software to support manufacturing and test in a lab environment supporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Act as the point of contact for multiple closed area test sets

  • Work closely with multiple stakeholders, including test engineers, responsible design engineers, and system engineers

  • Perform obsolescence upgrades on a variety of test sets

  • Provide timely support on the factory floor to ensure minimal delays in test

  • Provide innovative solutions that decrease test time, decrease data review time, or improve quality of data

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers.

SOUTHBAYJOB

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of software engineering experience; or

  • Master's Degree in STEM discipline and 3 years of software engineering experience; or 0 years experience and a STEM PhD. degree.

  • Significant experience developing software / writing code in LabVIEW

  • Experience developing and troubleshooting test set software and instrument automation

  • Familiarity with RF instrumentation as well as RF testing methodology

  • An active SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present in front of internal and external customers

  • Experience with the CARDS (Common Architecture Rapid Deployment System) Modules test executive

  • Experience with C, C++, Python, C#, or Java

  • Experience with XML

  • Experience with Power Converter or Digital Test Sets

  • Experience working closely with hardware engineers and with multiple stakeholders

  • Experience with aerospace industry software development practices
