Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Material Process Engineer 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The PM&P Lead is responsible for the selection, qualification, processing, and testing of the materials employed to meet mission requirements. The applicant will have a strong background in EEE parts, materials, and assembly processes. This PM&P background is necessary to support design, fabrication, and integration and test (I&T) activities. The PM&P Lead will also support failure investigations and prepare deliverable documentation. In addition to their technical qualifications, the PM&P Lead will be the primary PM&P interface with program and customer management and must possess excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with the integration and test of spacecraft and will have experience with budget management.
Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and 14 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment OR
Practical working experience with supporting ongoing integration and test (I&T) activities
Demonstrated knowledge in parts, materials and process selection, manufacturing support, failure analysis, and processing of materials and processing for space hardware
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Masters of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and 12 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment
Strong background in EEE parts, materials, processes, radiation, chemistry, budget responsibility is desired
