Northrop Grumman Engineer Guidance Navigation & Control 5 in Redondo Beach, California

Northrop Grumman's Aerospace System's Vehicle Engineering (VE) organizationis seeking a motivated candidate that will fill the position of Attitude Control Subsystem (ACS) Analysis Lead. The position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

The ACS Analysis Lead is responsible for all controls analysis for the space vehicle. The ACS lead analyst will assemble a team of ACS analysts who will create the ACS tools and own the high-fidelity simulation. The ACS tools and analysis are required to design, develop, and verify algorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of a spacecraft throughout its lifetime. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for spacecraft. This position reports directly to the program ACS lead. This position will require a Secret clearance, SCI preferred. Ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and organizational skills and professional development/mentoring skills

  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, streamline activities, and develop effective processes

  • Technical background in Attitude Control Subsystem design

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline.

  • Minimum of 14 years of experience

  • Experience in ACS development deliverables and processes

  • Current DoDSecret Clearance required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Works very well in a team environment

  • Current SCI Clearance preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical skills
