Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking an Electromechanical Engineer 2 to join our team of creative and diverse engineers. The position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
The selected candidate will perform unit level, PCB and hybrid module thermal analyses and provide design input to fellow team members on electronics hardware and advanced packaging concepts for satellite and airborne based high power density electronics.This personwill also provide technical assistance to senior analysts on new and on-going hardware development as part of an integrated design team, performing detailed FEA and classical hand calculations involving conduction, convection and radiation. This personwill be responsible for verifying that designs meet the programâ€™s thermal requirements and will interact with engineers across multiple disciplines to meet that objective. The successful candidate must competently distill complicated thermal systems into feasible problems for trade studies, capably interpret equipment specification flow down and be able to articulate their findings clearly in customer reviews and internal design reviews as well as in thorough technical documentation.

Bachelor'sDegree in Mechanical Engineering, or another STEM discipline with 2+ years of engineering experience; or 0 years experience with a STEM Master's degree.
Demonstrated recent work experience in electronics cooling & thermal analyses.
Previous professional experience with finite element/finite difference software (TAS, Ansys or Comsol) is required.
MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline;
Previous experience with electronics hardware, military requirements and standards, or hands-on work experience with numerical solutions & methodologies are preferred.
Demonstrated teamwork, skillful technical communication skills and strong academic technical background are highly desired.
Active SSBI security clearance orability tomeet the requirements for obtaining such a clearance are also preferred.
