Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Engineer Aeronautical 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
This candidate will conduct preliminary design synthesis and analysis of advanced manned, unmanned, air and space vehicles in the fast paced Advanced Design group. He/She shall demonstrate a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles associated with vehicle design with general knowledge of other related disciplines.
Tasks include takeoff/landing, mission and point performance characteristics of candidate subsonic/supersonic aircraft and hypersonic spacecraft designs as well as design synthesis and optimization of vehicles to meet operational requirements.He/She will conduct studies to define and evaluate advanced concepts, identify technology requirements, perform parametric trade studies and provide design guidance to the other team disciplines.Competitive assessment of current U.S. and foreign inventory designs may also be required. This candidate will support MDAO optimization development and analysis for various vehicle programs.
5 Years with Bachelors in Science.
Experience with MATLAB, Python, C++, ModelCenter, UNIX and Fortran
Strong interest in computational and optimization methods.
High level of efficiency optimization and excellent organizational skills is desirable.
