SSSD has an opening for a Cost Analyst or Principal Cost Analyst (Level 2 or 3) on a growing cost team within the Advanced Mission Systems (AMS) Business Unit (BU). The cost analyst will report to the Manager of the Enhancements CLINs and will be responsible for supporting program level reporting and analysis to meet internal and external requirements. In addition, the analyst will regularly interface with varying levels of leadership across multiple functions including program management, pricing, contracts, and security to effectively manage cost activity. The candidate is expected to be a highly collaborative, detail oriented, and proactive individual looking to expand their knowledge of business management.
This position requires a Department of Defense (DoD) active Top Secret (TS) security clearance or access to Special Compartmentalized Information (SCI).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) and performance measurement baseline concepts to multiple contracts, CLINs, and control accounts
EVM tasks include the establishment of Work Breakdown Structure for execution of budgeted cost of work scheduled, assessment and maintenance of objective performance criteria, maintenance of estimate at completion, and support to internal and external reporting requirements for variance analysis
Assist in preparation and submittal of monthly CDRLs such as CPR/IPMR, variance analysis, and CFSR
Monitor and report on program funding to ensure that limits are not exceeded; partner with Contracts to communicate timely and accurate funding needs to customer
Perform funding analysis and risk assessment across CLINs to support development of realistic program commitment profile
Maintain accurate Estimate at Complete (EAC) for Program Office scope
Monitor and forecast monthly billings in coordination with Finance
Incorporate contractual changes into cost control systems timely by staying aware of pending contractual actions against each CLIN to maintain realistic cost baselines
Pro-actively communicate with leadership regarding financial status, metrics, and deliverables
Collaborative work style: ability to interface with different functions and levels of leadership
Operate in a dynamic environment with competing priorities, while maintaining attention to detail with minimal supervision
This role can be filled at either a Cost Analyst (Level 2) or Principal Cost Analyst (Level 3) as outlined below. Basic qualifications must be met.
Basic Qualifications (Level 2):
Active TS Clearance and/or SCI Access
Bachelor's Degree with 3 years' experience in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Cost Control OR a Master's Degree with 1 years of stated experience
High proficiency with MS Office tools, especially Excel
Basic Qualifications (Level 3):
Active TS Clearance and/or SCI Access
Bachelor's Degree with 6 years' experience in and combination of Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Cost Control OR a Master's Degree with 4 years of stated experience
High proficiency with MS Office tools, especially Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
Experience with Northrop Grumman Space Systems cost reporting tools (SAP, BW, COBRA/MPM)
Prior experience in the aerospace & defense industry
Analytical; makes recommendations using acquired data and experience
Detail and results oriented; ability to deliver timely and accurate results under time sensitive conditions
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
Understanding of government cost accounting standards
Experience with financial analysis, billing, AP/AR research

Salary Range: $70,200 - $105,200
Salary Range 2: $86,300 - $129,500
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
